Quicktime Streaming

I need to know what options there are for broadcasting a live audio stream to the web. I'm using the QTSS on my (Tiger) G4 xserve and although I can get outstanding results, listeners in the customer's target group in all likelyhood won't have QT installed on their boxes at home. Is there a way to make the streams playable with Real or Windows Media?

If not, are there other alternatives that forum frequenters have found useful? Is there a good experience source for this kind of info?
