Why is there only one person who can't receive or send me text messages?

Your carrier needs to provision SMS on your account.

I have the same problem ... my wife does not receive my texts - problem only started 2 weeks ago. She can receive texts from all other contacts / carriers. I can receive texts from her and everybody else.

I have reset my network settings, deleted and reinput her contact details, entered the number directly ... no changes.

Does anyone have an answer to this problem yet ... Has Apple support provided a solution?

A "me too". Suddenly between tuesday and today my wife stopped recieving texts from my iPhone 5 to her iphone 5. I'm on AT&T, she's on Verizon, no other changes to the account. I can get her texts, she doesn't get any of mine any more. My kids on her same Verizon account (different phone numbers obviously) get my texts fine. I'm not blocked, she can get my calls and facetime without a problem. I guess I'll try resetting our network settings, but otherwise have no idea why this is occuring.

FWIW, it is an issue for both iMessage and SMS

I had hoped that IOS7 would fix this problem ... But no luck. Does anyone know how to contact a helpful Apple support engineer?

I just did a "Reset Network Settings" on my phone (my texts were not reaching my wife's phone) and that did the trick. Not sure it'll fix everyone else's issue, but it did mine.

Ok, so how do you Reset Network Setting? I think my friend has the IP7

Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.

Settings->General->Reset->Reset Network Settings

Back up before you do this

A backup is not necessary here because all it does it reset those settings. No data is affected by this move.

I did the reset network settings and it restored the phone contact but would still not allow text, This was solved by deleting the conversation with the person I could not text.

I had this problem with one person not receiving my texts. We tried all the suggestions I have seen hear all to no avail. Then I had the inspiration that they may have added me to their blocked list (accidentally I hope LOL) . This is exactly what had happened so we just unblocked it.So just keep this in mind if nothing else is working

For those of you still having trouble with this. I fixed the problem with my friend by enabling my email for imessage and having her imessage my email. My number is used to start new conversations but i can be reached at the email too
