Q: Installing a ssd in mbp5,3 2.66 and need help

I need installation instructions for a dummy like me.  Some of the computer terms are confusing me some.  Here's my current situation:

Bought the Crucial 480gb ssd, 8gb ram, and external enclosure.

I also have an external Seagate ssd.

Correct me if I am wrong please!!?

Plans are to backup current hdd in my MBP to the external Seagate drive using ???? (Don't know how to do this)

Take out hdd and put into external enclosure

Install ram and new ssd.

Re-install my 10.5.7 disc, then upgrade with my 10.6 disc, THEN upgrade to mountain lion.  (Want a complete fresh install)

I have documents all over the place that I do not use and just want to get rid of them and start over fresh, then migrate all of my pictures in iPhoto and music in iTunes, contacts, and my flip videos that I have.

I ran disk utility (before I backup my hdd) and received errors.  Want to know if they are serious errors or leave them alone.....

Here they are:

Permissions differ on system/library/java/support/deploy.bundle/contents/resources/javaplugincocoa.bu ndle.......etc

Warning: suid file "system/library/core has been modified and will not be repaired.   ?

What should I do? Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction!!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

You don't need to reset the PRAM unless you have problems

I installed the ssd, formatted it, and installed the install disk.  I checked for a software update before I install snow leopard also.  I ran disk utility and verified disk permissions.  Had about twenty entries that kept saying group differs/permissions differ library/Internet plug-ins/javaplugincocoa.bundle.......

Is this something to worry about before I install snow leopard?

    Thanks again!

    Ha, fixed it!

When installing the OS, it said that java was disabled and I could re-enable it in security settings in safari.  I enabled it, ran disk utility and it looks clean!

Well, after installing snow leopard and running disk utility I get a few problems that I don't think I created!?

What does "warning: suid file "system/library/coreservices/remote management/rad agent.app/contents/macos/arid agent" has been modified and will not be repaired mean?

Was this a "fix" in snow leopard to correct something in the previous OS?

I didn't make any changes myself....

    ..?
