HTTPS connection using IPv6 address does not work in Safari/Crome/Firefox in MAC
My MAC OS is OS-X Mountain Lion 10.8.3. this problem is seen on all the browsers (Safari/Chrome/Firefox) on the MAC.
IPv6 HTTPS connections from Safari does not go thru. We have a router which can be managed using Web (HTTP and HTTPS) interface. The SSL certificate (HTTPS Server certificate) the router provides is not a certificate issued by a CA.
When I connect to this router using HTTPS and using IPv4 address it throws ""Safari can't verify the identity of the website". But, When I force Safari to trust this certificate the IPv4 HTTPS connection works fine.
However, if I use the IPv6 address of the router I could not make safari to trust the certificate and hence the connection fails. I tried packet capture from MAC and as far as the SSL handshake messages go, I don't see any difference between the packets between the IPv4 HTTPS connection and IPv6 HTTPS connection.
.
I did internet search and found the following related articles. However, these are not fixing my problem:

From a Windows machine I am able to connect to this router using HTTPS using both IPv4 and IPv6 using any browser (including Safari).
Can you please let me know how to resolve this issue? or is there any problem for SSL certificate validation for IPV6 connections in MAC OS 10.8.3. Thanks
