upgrade mail to 4.6

my i Mac is still runnning Mail 4.5 and thus cannot open it.... any possibilities I can upgrade the mail.app to version 4.6?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Mac OS X 10.6.8 sometimes doesn't update Mail to the latest version, so you can't open it. Apple has released the steps to use Mail again in 10.6.8. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4424?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

If you moved or renamed it, put it back and then run the 10.6.8 combo updater.
