my ipod nano 5th generation works for a little bit then poweres down out of no where?
i can charge it all night but as soon as i turn it on it works for like 10 seconds then turns off out o fno where and turns back on then back off why?

You could be looking at the battery has had many cycle counts and the battery may be depleted. Check out the article below for more information and section on Charge Cycles.
