iCloud email on Nook HD

Does anyone know if it's possible to setup an iCloud email account on Nook HD? I've read the IMAP instructions provided by Apple and the issue begins when I input the SMTP info. I use Security Type "SSL/TLS" (which these are the two that you can use per Apple's instructions). When I select that Security Type, it changes the Port from 587 to 465. I then receive the error message "Couldn't open connection to server". Even if I change the Port back to 587, I receive an error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Thanks for your feedback... I figured out the issue. For some reason you can't use the extension @icloud.com, you have to you @me.com. Using @me.com allowed me to set it up automatically without inputting the IMAP & SMTP info. Strange, but at least my account has been added :-)

Hi Csound1... The mail.me.com option is the only one that works for the Nook HD. So far, all my emails have been coming through and I can send out successfully. I tried several times to use the "imap.mail.me.com" and the "smtp.mail.me.com"... It just won't work on the Nook HD.

I tried to allow it to setup manually and it forces me to select "pop" "imap" and I forgot the 3rd option. So I select "imap". The strange thing is this, if I use @me.com, it sets up automatically, but I don't use the @me.com extension. Using the @icloud.com extension, it's forces you to manually input TJ information.

Ok, for anyone who's curious, I figured it out. The SMTP setting should read "mail.me.com" and the Security Type is "STARTTLS". So you are able to use the @icloud.com extension.

Unfortunately mail.me.com is not iCloud, it is MobileMe. The incoming server for iCloud is imap.mail.me.com (smtp.mail.me.com for outgoing), you should expect erratic service if you choose to use the old Mobile Me server

Here are the correct settings for iCloud email: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864?viewlocale=en_US

It sets up automatically because it knows about Mobile Me, unfortunately that information is obsolete now, you must setup manually (If you had an older Mac you find the same behaviur, auto setup uses MobileMe settings, and thus is incorrect for iCloud.

Read the directions for your Nook carefully, you need to know how to enter the settings manually.

Also, go to the website, verify how you login there, use the same login for the Nook.
