shuffle : red flash light on charge

I recently bought an iPOD shuffle, and today I tryed to plug it into my PC. I was unable to do it : when I plug it in USB 2.0 port, the light flash once in red, then shut down. It is not recognized by the PC (even with iTUNE 6.x and the latest iPOD updater installed).
I tried all the solutions of the support pages, but it don't work anyway...
Does somebody have an idea?
