Q: how can i get my movies from iPhone4 to play on mac 10.8

When I transferred my movies from my iphone 4 over to my Mac v. 10.8, the message says that they can't be displayed in quicktime. How can I fix this?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8)
