HOW DO I ACTIVATE APPLE TV ESPN

Hi. I suggest you post a new question with your specific problem. Be sure to give your Apple TV version (see Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support if not sure), and your TV provider. If you have Apple TV 4, have you installed the ESPN app from the TV app store? Note that you cannot access ESPN without a TV (cable or satellite) provider.

Went to settings on Apple TV. No place to enter provider (DirecTV) that I can see. Where do I do this on AppleTV 3rd gen to get activation code?

Did you go to settings and select your cable provider?

I have not tried it yet, but it sounds like you have to select your provider and then use a computer or mobile device to validate that you have an account.

However, it seems that DirecTV and Dish are not participating (at least at this time) and likely not all cable providers are participating. More details here:
