What is error 5002?

happening to me too .. windows 7 .. latest iTunes version installed.

It let me purchase a couple of songs, and now i get the 5002.

I changed credit card information too, like so many people have said works.... nope.. not for me

so frustrating....

I think something is actually wrong, I'm getting this on all my devices including Apple TV. Its yet to be reported however. https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/

I get the same error on my iPad and itunes for some apps that I bought today.

I'm openeing a case. iMessage isn't working either so this is likely related.

So I'm changing this a little from my end. Here is what I can/cannot do:

• I can download new content (I tried a random song)
• I cannot download "purchased" shows, when I do this I get error 5002 on both iTunes PC/Mac
• I cannot download any "purchased" shows on iPad, nor iPhone. I simply get "Downloading" for a few seconds then the cloud icon again.

Support was of no help to me and after 45mins I was fed up. Not sure what the deal is. I changed my password which we all know is a pain...

This is resolved today. Regardless, there was an issue for sure if we all saw similar things.
