I may need to take my iPhone 5 into an apple retailer as it has started to play up (Not charging properly, doing cycles etc) and I want to have everything on my phone backed up to either my laptop, or iCloud, or both if possible. And i do not know how to do this correctly.  Everytime I charge my phone, though my computer, it automatically syncs everything to my computer/iTunes/iCloud, or whatever, but I don't now how to get t this or know exactly what I have on my computer, etc

This is the iPhoto for Mac forum - is your question about the Mac? If so is iPhoto in the Applications folder?

If your question is about your iPhone then you need to ask in the iPhoto for IOS or the iPhone forum

iPhone backups have nothing to do with iPhoto for either the iPhone or

It is about my Mac, but it's so I can sync my iPhone to my Mac.  I was directed here from the Apple website.

But I don't have iPhoto in my applications folder, so I guess I don't have it installed on my computer.

I thought it did, as when I was going through my iCloud, everything apart from Photo Stream was selected, and underneath it, it said you had to have Aperture or iPhoto installed on your compputer (I back up everything from my phone to my computer, and iCloud)

If the iPhoto application is not in your applications folder then you need to install it form the original source - either the system restore disks that came with your computer or the purchased iLife upgrade or the App store depending of where you original got it
