You should be able to download it on your Mac's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page, or you can connect the iPad to it and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy it over - in both cases it should copy over to the Apps part of your iTunes library. You can then take a backup copy of the app (you won't be able to use the app on yoru Mac as they are different operating sysetms).
