I work on a website using the FTPOnTheGo Pro app. It allows you to store web pages on your iPad, edit them, and upload them to a server.

But you have to know HTML code to use that app because it is not wysiwyg. There is a view in web window though so you can edit a page, upload it as a copy and view how it will look before actually replacing the page you're working on.

What iPad model do you have? Your profile shows you are running iOS 4.3.3. Many newer apps, if they can do what you want, will probably require at least iOS 5.1.1 or possibly iOS 6.x. You need to update your iOS.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.

I have an experimental website hand coded as part of a hobbiest learning curve.

It can be found in my Virgin Media Web Space . It was created on a Windows PC.

I now have an iPad2 updated to IOS6. I have tried a few FTP Apps but none will allow me to connect with Virgins server.

Has any one succeeded with the access and editing of a simple Web site.

Here is a sample page from the website that makes my case for help.

I am happy with my iPad and my wish is to use it to update my website.

By the way I am DaisyBet's husband my wife is the proud owner of the model with a retina display. :-)

Thanks Ralph9430. As a British o.a.p. I don't want to spend money on an app. until I am sure it will work.

I have tried one or two freebies and I am currently trying FTP Client Pro with no success. I have contact them and my ISP to see if the problem lies with them. At the moment I am not sure where the problem lies.

I have had a look at your profile to see if you give a link to your website but can not see one, is it possible for you to post one here ?
