Q: I have bought a 2nd hand iPod Touch

I have bought a 2nd hand iPod Touch ( told it was 3rd Gen, IOS 1.1.5) I have no APP STORE and cannot see how to add apps to the iPod Touch

I can connect through Itunes via the PC but cannot seem to find a way to add apps to it.

I've tried a Factory reset/upgrade and nothing has changed. If i try to connect to Itunes via the iPod Touch , even though I have a good internet connection, I get "Cannot connect to iTunes Store"

You have the original (1G) iPod touch. Those can go as high as 3.1.3 that you get here:

You can confirm since the 1G does not have volume buttons on the upper left edge.
Identifying iPod models
You need iOS 2 or later for apps.

There are not that many apps now compatible. To more easily find them:
