itunes won't open at all

I cannot open ITunes at all on my computer. It used to work fine and I tried reinstalling and repairing and even plugging in the IPad and it still won't open. I tried opening it holding down control and shift and nothing. Any suggestions? I have an HP Touchsmart desktop using Windows 7.
