My Macbook Pro gets extremely hot while watching any type of video or movie. It usually happens within minutes and it's hot enough to burn my legs. I tried to ask a guy at Best Buy and he told me that the laptop should never sit on your lap, so I have been making sure to keep it on a flat surface, but it still does the same thing. Any ideas?
Without knowing any more info than you have provided all I can say is that it is normal. Watching videos stresses both the CPU and GPU which generates more heat. Your fans should also increase speed to disperse the heat.
Never put the computer on your lap. The heat generated from the bottom can cause burns. This is covered in a section of the user guide or used to be.
Off course they get hot and can burn on ur legs do u think apple will say this,i dnt think so,u got to think any videos put more demanding on machine and can get hot,example if u put on any sites not running on video then just run luke warm but on videos then this will just heat up.
You cant control what you want out from the machine example i want to watch video and make sure this stay warm,its doesnt work this why hav fan to control the heat and im doubt there is fan speed to control the heat,its just built in fan
if u run any videos this will normally run hot,its normal nothing wrong with computer
