Can anyone advise me on how to download photos taken on the Ipad to my desk top? I have the camera connection kit so can download from camera but I cannot see how my camera USB cable will enable me to do the opposite since it needs usb at both ends.

I have used i pad to take photos for first time but I cannot work out how to download these on to myy desktop. I have the camera connection kit- but it seems I will need a cable with USB connections at both ends. Is that correct. Or is there some other way to do it?

You use the same cable that you use for charging and connecting/syncing the iPad to your computer, you don't use the kit (the kit can only be used to copy photos to the iPad). On a PC you should be able to use the windows camera wizard to copy those photos off, on a Mac you can Image Capture, Aperture or iPhoto

You can't export pics (or any type of file) using the camera connection kit.
