I can't get visual voicemail on the i phone 4. switched to smart talk. They said its an iphone issue

I can't get my voicemail to go to visual. I want to see the numbers calling and leaving measages. All I can do is listen to my voice mails after putting in password

iPhone 4, iOS 6.0.1

Visual voicemail is a CARRIER function, not an iPhone function. Your carrier must support visual voicemail. As SmartTalk is NOT an authorized provider for the iPhone, their network does not support visual VM. Your phone's fine.
