iCloud and Windows 8

I have a new computer running Windows 8 and using Outlook 2007. I have iCloud for updates on all my other devices and computers, but when I try to syn my Calendar to this new computer, I get an error message that reads "Setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile. check Outlook setting & try again." I have read everything I can on this subject and talked to Apple, but nothing seems to work. Does iCloud not work with Windows 8? I have downloaded the lastest ICloud also.
