Recently purchased songs from the ITune store will not download to my IPOD touch. I have tried many suggestions on how to resolve and none of these suggestions work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What do you mean by download? Sync to the iPod from your iTunes lbrary?
What exactly happens when you try?
Songs purchased from the Itune store goes to the library. When i try to sync my IPOD to the library, it ignores the songs purchased. I checked all settings and they are all okay. This problem just started about a week ago.
Does any media now sync?
nothing seems to sync.

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Next would be to restore from backup

How about you skip the computer and download from purchases on the iPod Touch?
go to the iTunes App
find Purchases in the bottom bar.
It will load all your purchases from the cloud. You can tap the cloud icon on the songs you want to add to the iPod Touch.
