Jun 22, 2013 9:37 AM in response to picieby babowa,Where are the emails (in what application: web based/accessed via browser or Mail.app or some other mail client)?
And, is this on a Macbook or (per your profile) a Mac Pro (which is not a laptop)?

Jun 22, 2013 7:25 PM in response to babowaby picie,The emails are in Mail.app.
And I'm using a MacBook Pro (laptop).
Am a total MacBook newbie so may have confused the terminology between MacBook Pro and Mac Pro.
Thanks for any help anyone can render.
Cheers.

Jun 22, 2013 7:37 PM in response to picieby babowa,No problem - just quite a difference between the laptop and the desktop "workhorse" Mac Pro....
I just sent myself a test email to show you - in my example, I am showing the Sent folder:
Just highlight the email and hit Delete (or use the delete key on your keyboard). If there is more than one, highlight the first one, hold Shift key and highlight the last one you want to select - everything between those two will be selected. Hit delete and they're gone. Don't forget to empty the Mail trash occasionally...

Jun 22, 2013 8:14 PM in response to babowaby picie,Thanks for sharing the print screen. After some research, I've been able to delete multiple emails now by holding Command while selecting the emails to be deleted.
The remaining issue is:
I find that emails that I had deleted are still appearing in the Mail ie the bulk of deleted emails doesn't appear immediately in Trash. It's like I know I have deleted the mails but it doesn't go right into Trash. I click delete/Command+delete/drag the emails to Trash, and they disappear BUT they don't end up in Trash!
Any advice?
Also, what's the difference between Delete and Command+Delete?
Thanks!!

May 21, 2016 8:02 AM in response to picieby Eric Root,Try Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Mailbox Behaviors/Trash and check Move deleted messages to the Trash mailbox. This must be done for each account.
Delete and command - delete do the same thing.
