Wake from sleep-->Login-->Back to Sleep-->Login. Why?

I just purchased a MacBook Air with the same specs and am having the same problem. Did you find a solution?

I've had this issue as well - Macbook Air 2013 Ultimate. After searching internet, I tried re-installing Mountain Lion. I can verify this did NOT fix the issue.

I'm not sure if this could be related, but I had used the OSX Data Migration tool to copy my apps and user accounts from a Macbook Pro.

We transferred our files, but NOT our applications. I have not gone through and tried to do a verification/repair of the hard drive using the Disk Utilities app, but that's up next.

I am having this same issue with i7 / 8gb ram / 256 ssd has there been any updates?

I fixed a MacBook Pro that what like this, granted it was a power pc, you have the infamous boot loop error. I found that this error is caused by the LaunchServices Cache being corrupted. You need to find the file and delete it. Good Luck.

imalexbell, I'm not sure that the rest of us are experiencing the same error that you did. Correct me if I'm wrong, but reinstalling the OS (like jonmc12 did) should fix the problem if it were just a corrupted cache file. And this morning I went through and ran the Disk Utilities "verify/repair permissions" and "verify/repair disk" and the issue is still there.

My problem only happens sometimes, I'm trying to find the limits of when the double login occurs, but it is by no means 100% for me. Do the others notice 100% double login? Or can we find when it goes back to sleep?

I have been experiencing the same issue here, it happens only once after I wake from sleep. It does looks like other users have also been experiencing this issue. Here is a list of other threads reporting similar issues.

Hopefully Apple will see this and acknowledge this as a known issue.

I may have found a solution..
So far its been good since yesterday.

System Preferences --> User & Groups --> Login Options --> Automatic Login --> Your primary user

Ever since I changed this setting things have appeared to been better, but since it only happens sometimes its hard to know 100% Let me know if this helps you guys.

wgleich, I made this settings change, and so far, it seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks so much! I was about to exchange my machine. I'll post back if I see condition recur, but I'm optimistic.

Actually, after working today, I've seen the condition occur 2 times. I'll continue to keep an eye on it, but it appears my machine still has the issue even after attempting the fix above.

In thoery you should be able to format the entire drive, make sure you format for max capacity, and then reinstall OS X. This brings up another question, have you installed from a disk or a usb drive that you put the operating system on?

Just want to add that I have the exact same issue, about 2-3 times a day, on a mid-2013 13" Macbook Air.

I installed it from scratch, not updated.

Very frustrating.

Same issue. I bought my macbook air about a month ago and it does the random sleep after a few seconds of being logged in.

This is also happening to my MBA mid-2013 with i5, anyone found a solution or cause yet?
