Want to permanently remove some apps and books from itunes 11.0.4 as i have too many and it is getting difficult to manage on itunes!
Does anyone know how to do this?

Click on the app/book/songs/etc in the library. Press the delete key on your keyboard

When I press it nothing happens. I cannot right click, I can not select delete from view as it is greyed out, nothing works. I am using iTunes 11.0.4.4
The only option I have from the apps is to drag and drop on to my phone view or to uninstall apps that I want.
I want to clear the apps that are not on my phone from my iTunes
Open itunes
Go to Library on the left side of the screen.
Click on Apps, under Library
Highlight/click an app
Press delete
Yes I've just tried this and it does nothing

I took the following steps to delete apps permanently from my iTunes library. I use a MacBook Air and iTunes 11.0.04:
Open iTunes
Go to the Library drop down box
Select Apps
Click on individual app, press delete and hit enter

Apps from itunes library. Select app & press delete and you are DONE !!! Cheers !

Searched plenty forums and all were saying how can you can't press delete is it difficult?
Did you ever get a solution? I'm trying to permanently delete some books through iTunes, and select/push delete does not work and the books refuse to be dragged anywhere!
Be careful that you are not trying to delete from the app from the iPhone, iPad, iPod device in the itunes menu
What I mean is if you select your iPhone, for example, you can arrange the apps or remove them from your device but you cannot delete them from the itunes menu from here. You need to go to the app library. Once in the app library you can delete away any app you don't want.. Hope this was helpful...
