I Did test my ipod on another computer and it works fine on that one but not mine
I have a Windows 8 laptop with itunes version 11.0.0.4.4
tried previous versions
tried changing compatibility settings etc etc
HELP
iPod touch (2nd generation), itunes issue
Did you do everything here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Including
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
New cable and different USB port?
Runs this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Next would be to restore windows fromn a previous restore point
Unfortunately i have tried and re-tried all this and have come out unsuccessful 😟
perhaps i should just call apple and complain in the morning, might be something to do with itunes not liking windows 8 and all
