hi, i am trying to use Native instruments FM8 plug-in with Logic pro 9 but i cant seem to open the plugin within the program, i have tried the usual procedures for scanning third party plug-ins but it still doesn't show up . The plugin was working perfectly fine last year before my computer crashed. However since i had to reinstall logic from time maschine i cant get FM8 to show up in the program. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

a) Does it show up at all in Audio Unit Manager?. You could try a "Reset and Rescan".
b) Have you booted Logic in 32bit mode?
c) Is the FM8 plug up to date?
d) Does teh FM8 run standalone (from the Applications folder)?

a) its doesn't show up in the Audio units manager, ive tried resetting and rescan and it wont pick it up
b)my logic is running in 32-bit mode currently
c) Not sure about whether it is up to date, i have had it for one year and have not updated it any further
d) It does run standalone and functions as normal from the applications folder

I'd reinstall it then run Service Center to download the latest update from NI

I can confirm, because I was using it over the weekend... that FM8 (latest version is v1.2.1.1119) works fine with Logic 9.1.8 in 64bit and 32bit modes..and Mountain Lion and has worked without issue with Lion too... so as CCT stated, I'd reinstall and then update/reauthorize via NI's Service Center application
Just checking for obvious problems:
Do you have the FM8 Audio Unit (FM8.component) file in your Audio/Plug-Ins/Components folder?
Could be that that you only have the VST version which won't work in Logic.
