Accessing iBooks From a Third Party Product

Does Apple allow access to iBooks from a third party product? I want to use iBooks for storing resumes. On an iOS device, from a third party product you click a Browse button. This would access the device's iBooks app, and the user would select their resume. Since this is a resume, the user would have to be able to make the resume accessible to another person.

While I'm not entirely certain I understand exactly what you're looking for here, iBooks on iOS doesn't have anything like what you're looking for; for direct network access to any resources other than the Apple store.

You could select the resume in PDF format using Safari on iOS and then ask to have that loaded into iBooks.

Or use the iTunes sequence BobHarris describes.

Here is the Apple tech note on loading PDFs into iBooks.

Here is a discussion of some code that a custom app can use to send PDFs to iBooks. (If you're thinking of creating an app for this task, then I'd also suggest using the Apple iOS developer forums for related questions or discussions. That'll be a much better audience for helping with the creation of this app.)
