If nothing there helped, post a Safari crash report on your Reply.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Now *copy/paste the entire contents* of the Crash Reporter window into your reply here. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.
I'm having the same problems on my 2009 MacBook Air using OS X Mavericks,
while Safari is fully functional on my iMac.
Once I start up Safari, computer will not respond to anything I do and therefore need to force shutdown and restart the MBA in order for it to work again. Need to use Chrome to use the internet and even to write this!
(Updating to Mavericks has caused my MBA to be really slow, while everything worked fine using Mountain Lion)
Please help! Any help would be more than welcome
My problem was due to Glims (http://machangout.com) that doesn't seems to be compatible with Mavericks.
Even the uninstaller did not work and I had to remove manually the different pieces from /Library/Application Support/Glims and ... I forgot where ...
Anyway, I hope this will help.
After loading Mavericks and Safari 7, I have experienced the page two finger "swipe" freezing the page and killing the ability to do anything on that page. I disabled any extentions, etc, cleared reset Safari, rebooted this did not clear the problem... I have 16Gb of RAM available, etc. on a 2GHz I7 quad-core MacBookPro... never had any problem like this in any prior release or update of Safari... This is happening on this forum page! UGH!...
Definitely some issue that needs attention now!
