Can't hear music, but I can hear the clicking when I press buttons

Hi,

I have an Ipod classic, today it has developed a fault where I can't hear the music.

I can hear the clicking sound the Ipod makes when you press the buttons, but I can't hear any music.

I have tried adjusting the volume, resetting my ipod, reinstalling my Ipod, but all I can hear is the clicking noise it makes when you press the buttons.

I have tried other headphones and I have tried resetting the Ipod but neither of these seem to work. Help.
