Q: Mac compromised

I have had this MacBook Pro for approx 2 months now. It has been fine but odd things have been happening. I only bought the Mac as I was told by a Mac Consultant that it is very secure and no one can hack or get into your laptop. I brought it for the secureness well that is what I was expecting. My last laptop had keylogger and I have previously been stalked in life and on the internet by someone I know.

I don't want to get into details but my screen starts shaking on it's own without the mouse being touched! If I am viewing different pages at a time on my tab and I read one page without touching the mouse, it flicks on to another page! it's done this twice now! and when I was looking on my USB Stick at images the mouse clicked on a different image on a different row!

I have this mac as a buy it now pay it later scheme and slightly ****** off this has now happened! I am not sure how it is compromised but I log in each day to a website I use for work and I am not sure if the compromised problem is coming from that website! I had my log in details changed on a different server by the company I work for. I would of normally bought a Windows but since I was told Mac's are soo good! I went for a Mac because I was promised I would not have these problems again!

A month ago I did go back to where I brought it from and asked if I could have it wiped and he said no! he said it's impossible for anyone to get in! but he couldn't answer my problems when I told him about the pages changing! so to me he was clueless about technology! My last laptop used to have the same problem with the pages flickering and that was on a Windows! I will have to pay £1,700 for this laptop I got £330 off from it. Just thought the guy who sold it to me wanted his comission!

Sorry it's long but I've just about that enough of being tracked in what I do! I am now in a contract with apple and it's ****** me off big time!

There are several possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps until it's resolved.

    1. Follow the instructions in this support article.

    2. Reset the System Management Controller.

    3. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.

    4. A swollen battery in a MacBook Pro or Air can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced.

    5. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built in trackpad of a MacBook to  behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.

    6. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.

    7. If none of the above applies, or if you have good reason to think your computer is being controlled remotely, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi, disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop immediately, you should suspect an intrusion.

Two nights ago I joined a dating site and the website exited out of the blue, like someone had clicked the x to exit it. Then I went back on the website and then it happened again! this is the same activity that happened on my Windows. So Mac's are not really that secure as they appear to be.

I really don't think this is a techincial issue with apple. I use a website each day to log in to for my work and I think it's compromised from that end and if I access it  on my mac it will leave a gate open for the activity to continue. So I am now having to buy another laptop for my work only and use my mac for private stuff. That is the only way to solve this problem. If I were to delete my membership from the website I use, I would loose a lot of business and I can't do that.

I am going to make a appointment with the Genius bar soon see what they can do.
