Q: How to delete some pictures to free up memory on Ipad-1 when not being able to connect to original laptop (= broken).

My Windows Laptop has crashed and is no longer functioning (=kaput!).

This is the original computer for my photo's.

I use Ipad-1 with the most relevant Photo's on it.

I don't require Laptop anymore.

My Ipad memory is Full and getting real slow due to too many photo's (+5.000 !!).

I cannot acces my Laptop anymore and therefor not delete the original and sync with iPad.

I want to delete some photo's on iPad.

However, many pictures are "blocked" from deleting due to the fact that original or something is on laptop.

Question:

1 - How can I delete certain "blocked" pictures without having to sync iPad to a computer?

2 - Should I have to use another computer (not mine, but someone elses), will my pics not interfere with library of the other person ? I don't want to mess up heir library or get their pics on my iPad.

Please tell me how to do things. i am not too clued up on computers or ipad settings.

Thanks in advance

    Additional info:

    * Most pictures were transferred from Laptop through iTunes to iPad. These are the pics I can't download. Pics imported directly from e-mail i.e. received on iPad to phot application on iPad can be deleted.

    * When tapping on screen when a picture is displayed full screen, I do NOT get a TRASH-icon. I do get the icon with arrow to do certain activities like email, print, copy etc.
