Q: Is there any indication that airplay will be made reverse compatible?

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010).  I'm disappointed, after purchaseing Apple TV, to find that my processor is not compatible with Mirroring in OS X.  Support says I have no mirroring option.  Article HT5404 clearly states hardware compatibility.  The AppleTV website and my Apple retailer does explicately discuss compatiblity.  It seems I am forced to buy AirParrot.  I have a brand new 3 Gen Apple TV

Does anyone know it OS X development team will ever enhance the airplay functionality to be reverse compatible with my two year old laptop?

Added info... after looking at the Apple TV website I found the small print at the bottom of the page.   Apple should be more transparant with compatability facts and not fall back on small print at the bottom of their web page.

    1. AirPlay is available on all devices running iOS 4.3 or later. Some features require the latest software. Second-generation Apple TV or later required.
    2. AirPlay Mirroring is available with iPad 2 or later; iPhone 4S; iPhone 5; iPod touch (5th generation); and iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer) and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer) with Mountain Lion.
    3. Dual-screen capability is available with iPad 2 or later, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and iPod touch (5th generation).
