Okay, First off I want everyone to know that I tried looking for an answer to this, but all I found was a bunch of people replying 'don't steal music' Thing is- I don't. I just want to know if there is a way to import
MY music into
MY computer at work so I can listen off of it. It's not going on a shared drive or anything like that, just my own pc.
Is there a way around the 'we have to erase your ipod if you want to use it on another computer even though you own the music' problem?
If you set your iPod to manual update, you can connect it to another computer and listen to it through iTunes. If you change the update setting on your home computer then you won't get the "iPod is linked to another library" message when you connect to the one at work. Sorry just noticed the line at the bottom of your post. Unfortunately if you are using a Shuffle these cannot be set to manual update like the Nano and the full sized iPod. You can read more at this link: iPod Shuffle FAQ
I apologize for jumping the gun on that... seems that for the ipod shuffle I don't get an option to manually update my music. Any other suggestions? Oh wait... you already answered that.. its early over here 🙂
Well, that's a bummer. I imagine that because it's so universal (USB Built in) that they felt that more music could be stolen if they allowed it to operate like the other ipods that require special cords.
