I just got the iPhone 5 in the mail today. I previously had the iPhone 4. the new iPhone 5 will not activate. I logged in with my apple ID and everything. it just says "no service" at the top and my old phone is still receiving texts and calls. is there anything that I can do? or does it take a while to activate?

Resolution
Perform the following steps if you receive one of the messages above:
- Restart the iPhone.
- Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
- Try connecting to a known-good Wi-Fi network if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
- Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
- Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Applefor assistance.

Hey, i've had my iphone 5 for about a year and i had the beta IOS 7 months befrore the release of the (non-beta) IOS 7. About a month ago my dad went to verision and turned my texting, calling, data off cause i was grounded and he recently turned it back one, this was a week ago around (9/30/13) and it was working fine now all of a sudden when i tried to unlock it, it said "activation required" and so i connected to the internet and tried to activate it but it said "activation error" and wont even let me get to my home screen. This is what it also says..."This divice is not registered as part of the iphone Developer program. If you are a member of the Iphone Developer Program, please register your divice in the iphone Deceloper Program Portal at http://developer.apple.com/iphone. and so i went there and the page is down or something cause it wont go there...if anyone knows whats wrong please help me out.

I think I've found the solution. If you have the ipsw beta file of iOS 7, DELETE IT. Then, put your phone into DFU Mode and click restore, and you should be able to update to 7.0.2 without a problem.
