Q: An invalid response was received from the device?

For at least the past year, I haven't been able to sync my phone with iTunes.  It either freezes, or, recently, has been giving me an "Invalid response blah blah" error.  I made two threads to no response.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  Can Apple make software that isn't complete ****?

I also am having this issue with a new iPhone7 i just purchased today. My wife and I both backed up our IPhone6s on our respective computers (both mac) and proceeded to restore our new phones off of the old backup. My computer/phone combination worked perfectly, however my wife's computer will not connect to her new iPhone7 and displays the same message as the original post. I plugged my new iPhone7 into her computer with success. Also switched ISB ports and cables. As both of our phones are brand new as of today (and mine is recognized by her computer perfectly) there is some software issue with the phone. What's the solution?

Man I'm so tired of Apple blaming everything else. ALL my USB ports WORK with EVERYTHING ELSE. My charge cable WORKS! My iPhone WORKS! My PC WORKS! My software is UP TO DATE! My iTunes is UP TO DATE! Stop blaming everything else. I'm not going to use a different computer or reinstall iTunes or reinstall Windows or do a rain dance on a Sunday at 3.00pm when Jupiter is aligned with Saturn. THIS IS NOT MY PROBLEM TO SPEND TIME FIXING!
