I tried to call them and they said I need to pay $19 since I dont have insurance. I dont have my iPhone anymore, and I changed my password and it still doesn't work. How am I supposed to fix this.

You call them back and explain this isn't a technical issue with your device, that it is an issue with your Apple ID.  You don't have to pay $19 to get assistance with your Apple ID.  You don't even have to own an iPhone or any Apple product to have an Apple ID.  You can have iTunes on a Windows computer and have an Apple ID.

If they give you any guff, ask for your case number immediately, and then ask for a supervisor, politely.

I have looked around and see that there are issues with the Aplpe ID thing. I post this here because it is generally on the topic and hope someone at Apple will see it.

I have an icloud account that I did not set up. It came with my ipad. I did not request it, it just happened when apple took my name and produced an icloud account probably out my my previous, but unsed mobile me account.

I already had an apple ID from using itunes. It did not have an icloud account attached to it because I created it back before icloud or mobile me existed. It is gmail based.

Now I cannot change the Apple ID to the icloud account because the icloud account already exists. So I cannot switch everything to icloud. So I cannot use all the icloud features because so many of them require an icloud account (syncing various things, email ease, etc).

So if I use iLife or iWork (which I do) and have all my various Apple store purchases, apps for my iphone, my mac, and my ipad and music all use the same ID (which they need to do in order for the purchases to be valid) I am stuck with the gmail based Apple ID.

In fact, when I log in to my iclkoud Apple ID it doesnt even show and icoud address. It still has @me.com!!!

If I could just delete the icloud acocunt I did not set up and then use it in a recreated way to make it me apple ID I would. But I cannot do that as long as it exists, and I do not wish to set up yet another isckoud account.

    Hey buddy,

Maybe he have agreed to those terms. But! As a client of apple he has the right to voice his opinion and to be heard from the apple reps. Which has not been done maybe because they dont think of these small issues worth looking at. Maybe a simple business ethic teaches that no matter what circumstances and agreement has been signed... attending to a clients request is needed is a MUST and this needs to be reviewed by apple again.

Personally I am running into issues with two accounts conflicting because i have credit card conflictments. On a serious note I would like assistance from apple and would like apple to take my case seriously. I guess as a graphics designer i would like to take this another step and make this issue public to my graphics organizations i belong to.

If you want help from Apple, then call Apple.  This is not an Apple  Corporate support site.  This is just users of apple products  volunteering to help other users of apple products.  Apple does not  participate actively in these forums, so if you wish Apple to hear and  respond to your issues, then you need to pick up a phone and call  Apple.  The telephone is the primary (and for many things, the only)  means of actually getting help from Apple.

That's for feedback - you will not get a response from Apple by submitting feedback.  If you actually need technical assistance from Apple, the primary means of Apple technical support is by telephone - http://www.apple.com/contact/

    Hello.

Apple IDs can be deleted; I just sent through a delete request today.

However, do take note that it's a big deal: any associated emails with the Apple ID (ie, rescue email addresses) will be unable to become an Apple ID later (take them off the account before deleting) and never expect the Apple ID to be resurrected. Make sure your documents are out of the account, you have reviewed if the Apple ID has any purchases because they'll go away, etc etc etc. The walkthroughs on the internet are still a good way of "emptying" your account before deletion but only one helped me delete my account (read on).

The iTunes Support people are your answer; in my experience, iCloud Support can't do it. The people who can help will read you a disclaimer regarding deleting the account. Please pay attention to each part because you are really really really saying goodbye to that account with Apple forever.

Mandar Apte describes the solution here in his post How to Delete & Deactivate Apple ID, Here is the Answer.

    Take care.

Can I merge two apple id's?  I have an old business account, and I don't want my x-company seeing any of my acitivites.  if they own the email address on the apple ID - will they have any access?

You cannot merge Apple IDs. If they own the email address they can get Apple to reset the password. However, you can change the email address associated with an Apple ID. Then they would have no further access. To change it you need to know the password associated with that email address for the Apple site (which may not be the same as the password for the email address receiving email). If you do go to https://appleid.apple.com. Click Manage..., log in, then click Edit next to Apple ID and Primary email address.

No, you cannot merge Apple ID's.  And yes if they know the password to the Apple ID they can see anytihng you purchase, and possibly iMessages you send.

Your best bet is to simply reset the phone to factory defaults and set it up with your own Apple ID. That way they can see nothing.

Here's a twist. My old Apple ID is tied to an email that no longer exists plus I don't remember the password. How do I update my apps?
