I was attempting to replace my optical drive with a second hard drive and did everything correct as far as I know.
Now it won't turn on, battery life check doesn't do anything, and MagSafe doesn't light up when plugged in

Everything is connected correctly and I did not disconnect the battery.
SMc reset does nothing
The closest apple store is about 2 hours away :(
If a battery in a MBP has failed, it still should be able to operate with the power adapter. Both failing simultaneously, though possible, is very unlikely. I cannot see any other option but to take the two hour ride and have the Apple technicians determine the problem.
