I am a new comer to Apple. Can someone help me remove a document out of a folder

Where is the folder located?

What happens when you attempt to drag it from the folder to the desttop?

Open the folder. Select the document with the mouse and hold down the mouse button while you drag the selection onto the Desktop. Release the mouse button to drop it in place.
