Whenever I download a game app onto my MacBook Air, I can't find the game anywhere. Where can I find the game app on my laptop?

MacBook Air (11-inch Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

In iTunes look in Apps. However, games downloaded from the iTunes App Store cannot be played in OS X. They are only for iOS devices.
