Mid 2010 MBP 15'' Red Smudge / Discoloring

I have red smudges that appeared recently on my 15'' mid 2010 mbp. The more distinct smudge seems to line up with my keys on the keyboard when it would be closed. The problem is it is not a surface smudge, it is within the LCD screen. It also only appears when the screen is black (but powered on), which is terrible while watching dark scenes in movies and it is otherwise perfect with a white screen. It can only be seen when looking at it in an angle from the left side (picture is flipped for whatever reason). Any tips?
