Q: iPhoto is not accessible on my new MacBook Pro Retina.

I do have photo's from my external hard-drive (from old Mac) that I am trying import and those photos have also synced to my iPad. However, it asks for me to choose an application to import them into, however, iPhoto is not in my Applications. So, I'm not sure why it's not available on my new MacBook??

iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand come with every new Mac free of charge. It looks like iPhoto isn't available in your MacBook Pro, so open the App Store, go to Purchases tab and see if you can download iPhoto from there.

If it doesn't appear, return your MacBook and get another one that will include iPhoto

My only option is to pay for it, and I won't do that because I knew it comes with the applications you mentioned. And all 3 are not showing up. Thank you, I will get in touch with Apple to see what they can do.

Definitely, you have to contact with Apple. Note that if you purchased a second-hand Mac, you have to pay for them, because the free copy is registered to the old owner's Apple ID
