i've been through the whole article but for some reason, i couldn't find my very own keyboard layout of my MacBook Pro 17".
i bought this particular one used, just to get into the Apple Mood.
Right now i had to create my own keyboard layout through a third party software, what actually causes a few problems.
my keybard layout is right beneath
any help would be appreciated

n prefs > language & Text > Input sources when i choose anything it has to do with English it wont work right
i have to press "SHIFT" & "é" for example to get the 2 and as far as i know thats not very english ....
Have you tried British English?
yes actually i tried the whole list
It looks like the French/Belgian layout except it is qwerty instead of azerty. Will have to do some more searching to find an exact match...
PS I don't think Apple ever made a keyboard like this. I wonder if a former owner moved the keys around on his French keyboard to convert it from azerty to qwerty?

that's what i thought as well, but its not only the A and Q switch and also the M and ? switch, i found out that the F keys with all the other functions on it, are different from the Belgian/french keyboard mapping.
have to admit, very strange problem 🙂

That is expected. French azerty has m next to l, so someone switching keys to qwerty would normally move this key down next to the n and replace it with the comma/question-mark key which azerty has in that location.
ok, lets assume that i will not have any problems with the F keys (F1 through F12 and eject) when i do the switching to French or Belgian Keyboard so I can enable one of these Keyboards through my preferences.
How hard would it be to switch these 4 keys on the keyboard ? im a little bit afraid that something could break 🙂

I don't know about that. But try doing a google search on "moving keys", etc., with your specific model/year macbook and you might find a youtube video of someone showing how to do it without damage.
Or maybe an Apple store or service facility would help.
after changing the 4 troublemaker keys, and switched to belgium keyboard, i had issues with the Function keys 😟 they where remapped otherwise...
only solution since this is getting kinda weird, and to be honest, i miss the US default keyboard, is to get an replacement (but original apple) for about € 80.
