Q: Itunes match, Ipod touch and music purchased outside of itunes

I have recently purchase some albums at a festival and when i tried to move them to my ipod touch the message said that I couldn't move them because itunes match was enabled on this ipod. Does this mean I can never listen to music on my touch if I have purchased outside of itunes, with itunes match???
