How do I remove my photo from messages I send in Mail

Just set up new Macbook and took photo of me at start up with the built in i- cam Now anytime I send e-mail I get my phot being sent in the top RHS of the message - while tis is nice I would like to be able to not do this or at lease only send it if I want to - please advise as this is annoyikng.
