Q: Why doesn't my WiFi network show up on my MacBook Pro even though my iPhone and iPad have no problems with the network?

So I am currently visiting some family out of town and I'm having a strange connectivity problem. My iPhone and iPad are able to connect to the wireless network just fine, but for some reason, the network doesn't even show up in the list of available networks on my MacBook Pro (the machine has no problem connecting to other networks, just this one). I am running the latest and fully updated version of Lion on a mid-2010 MacBook Pro and I'm connecting through a TP-Link 150 Mbps N ADSL2+ Modem Router.

Has anyone experienced this problem before or have any ideas on how to fix it? I have a lot of work to get done and as great as my iPad is, it's just not as powerful or efficient as my MBP! Grateful for any help or suggestions!

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

    Can you manually add the network?

    I am running the latest and fully updated version of Lion

    Which is OS 10.7.x.  Yet your system profile confirms "OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)."  Which OS is actually currently installed on your MBP?

    ==============

    Try the basics first:

       Change your router channel number.  Most times this works & is all you have to do.

    Disconnect & reconnect your modem.  unplug it for about 10 seconds.  Plug it back in.  Do the same for Apple’s routers.  Wait for everything to reboot.

    System Preferences>Network

    Click the Assist Me button.

    In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.

    Research Knowledge Base for network problems that pertain to the OS that is currently installed on your computer.   See these basic networking KB Articles:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1401 AirPort troubleshooting guide

    Yeah I already tried this, and it told me "No network found."

    Sorry; I meant to say Mountain Lion. I don't believe it's a problem with the router either, since everything else seems to work perfectly fine except for the MBP. I had already seen this response to someone else's question but none of the recommendations seemed to help. Any other ideas?

    So changing the router channel didn't work either?

    Since no ones suggestions are working for you, take your MBP to you local AS or an AASP for FREE diagnostic testing.  If you have AC, the repairs will be free too.
