do i need a new sim card if i'm going from an iphone 4 to a 5?

I just got my new Iphone 5. Do i need to get a new sim card from my provider, or will the sim card from my Iphone 4 work?

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4

A micro SIM card from your iPhone 4 will not fit in the nano SIM card slot for the iPhone 5.

So i assume my service provider will send me a nano sim for my new phone?

I would imagine they would. I don't know who your carrier is or how that specific carrier handles this. But it wouldn't make sense for them not to include a material required to activate/use the phone.
