Jun 25, 2013 10:56 PM in response to Trishfromazby Ocean20,The messages are never stored on the SIM. If they are deleted from the phone then they may be in a backup. Use ibackupbot to extract the messages from the backup contained in itunes

Jun 25, 2013 11:01 PM in response to Trishfromazby Ocean20,★HelpfulI dont know how to extract the messages from a cloud backup. If you have a cloud backup you could restore from that and all data created since that backup was created will be lost. what you could do is backup you phon enow to itunes, then restore from the cloud then use ibackupbot to import all of the messages to you computer and then restore your phone from the itunes to get it back to where it is now

Jun 25, 2013 11:17 PM in response to Ocean20by Trishfromaz,I do have a cloud backup on the date that the texts were deleted, but as that was a month ago and cloud backs up daily, I presume they are gone. I am awaiting a call back from Apple Legal to determine whether Apple's server still retains data from last momth's backup. I understand that Apple cannot make this available to me but hope Apple could comply with a federal subpoena for data on that date. I will be sure to reply to the forum with Apple's answer.

Jun 25, 2013 11:20 PM in response to Ocean20by Trishfromaz,Thanks for the links. It raises one last question: I have read that deleted messages are still on the cache until new message dta writes over it. Assuming this may be the case on my phone, is there any way to access the cache to retrieve data before its overwritten? I'm guessing not a snowball's chance...
