Hello,

In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the exact message?

Then click the Show Details button & Check again.

The Password rejection can confuse people since it's a catch all meaning...

This Password, Username, Authentication method... is not recognized on this Port to this Server.

If WebMail works in a browser, it's not Name or Password, but one of the other ones.

The receiving email ports are:

IMAP is port 143

IMAP-SSL is port 993

POP is port 110

POP-SSL is port 995

Outgoing ports are...

SMTP and SMTP-SSL is on ports 25, 587 and 465. Port 587 has to be SSL, and port 465 is enforced TLS-wrapped and is generally used by Outlook users.

Thank you for your answer; but my problem is different. I use Mail of Mac and since three weeks my contacts that use hotmail don't receive no more my messages. Excuse my bad english. I hope I have explained my problem. Notice: I recieve every mail and I can send mail to everyone, except to Hotmail addresses.

Whew, just checked my hotmail account, can't send, but do recieve... likely since they switched to Outlook instead... I rarely use it.

I can login to outlook.com & it says my account is blocked unless I provide a mobile phone#, I've never so much as touched a Cell Phone. 😟

I can read mail in the Outlook or Apple's Mail, but cannot send from either, so login at outlook.com & sse if you get the same.
