You have a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro, so you can use AirPlay Mirroring. AirPlay Mirroring requires OS X Mountain Lion but you are using OS X Lion. You have two options:

    1. Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion. Make a backup of your files, open the App Store and purchase OS X Mountain Lion. After upgrading, you will see the AirPlay icon on the menu bar.

    2. Keep Lion and use a third-party application like AirParrot > http://www.airparrot.com

I recommend you the first one, so you will get the most recent features. Also, with the OS X Mavericks release in fall, AirPlay Mirroring and other things will get new features > http://www.apple.com/osx/preview
