Installing TuneUp Media has stopped iTunes from downloading stuff

My podcasts no longer automatically download, app updates no longer appear and though I can connect to the iTunes Store, I can't manually download anything. It attempts the task but times out. I've flushed my DNS, I've turned off pop-up blockers and have uninstalled TuneUp.

When I run diagnostics within iTunes, it knows I'm connected to the internet but indicates that a connection to the iTunes Store is not working.

My iTunes is up to date, is there a way to do a repair installation of it? I want to purge any changes that TuneUp has tampered with.

Hi dturner69,

If you are looking to do a complete removal and reinstallation of iTunes, you may find the following article helpful. Note: This may not be an effective resolution to your issue if TuneUp has made changes to any files or settings outside of iTunes.

Tiffany from TuneUp here So sorry that many of you have had so many issues with TuneUp 3.0. I wanted to let you know that TuneUp is now under new ownership and we have made some MAJOR improvements. You can read more about this transition here: http://www.tuneupmedia.com/com...

To start, we strongly recommend that you download version 2.4.8, which is TuneUp’s strongest, most stable and most accurate version. For more information about how to do that, go here: http://support.tuneupmedia.com...

For those of you interested in checking out TuneUp, please download the free trial. And, if you’re interested in getting the full version, use promo code RELAUNCH14 for 30% off through April 15, 2014.

Again, thanks for your patience and support. Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.
